Sometimes in your darkest hours come your greatest gifts. As women, we all have talents and abilities. Sometimes these talents might have become muffled over time through supporting other peoples’ talents, abilities, and gifts. We sometimes put ourselves on the back burner and forget all about all the wonderful attributes we have to offer the world. For every squished dream there is an empty void in the flow of creation.
I know many women who started investing in themselves only when they were faced with extreme challenges, whether it was something to do with their health, finances, or a relationship they didn’t want to look at. But wherever you’re at, what you resist will persist. When the dark night of the soul comes creeping in we must go through the forest or regret not facing it. Sometimes we don’t even see something coming, it just takes us by surprise. But why wait for a crisis to express your talents, abilities and gifts? Why not take the time to discipline yourself now and learn something new?
Investing in yourself is not only vital for your own well-being, but it sends the message to other women that they are worthy to do the same.
What is tugging on your coattail to become, do, or have? What do you want to begin? Write a book, learn another language, master a skill? Whatever it is, the first thing you need to do is decide what is that thing you want to invest in.
Time is such a precious commodity. When it’s gone it’s gone. As a coach I ask my clients to envision their life backward. Think of being 80 years old and envision where you are living. What are you doing? Who are you with? What kind of life-style do you have? What would you have liked to have accomplished? What are some things you are naturally good at? Nurture your nature. Devote time every day to a long lost dream or vision that captures you’re attention and passion when you think if it. Take classes and study about whatever it is that will take your talent to a higher level.
To master anything takes practice, practice, and more practice.
Something magical happens when you stick with something and master it. The universe offers assistance to guide you, and the secrets of your gift begin to reveal themselves. Synchronicity weaves into your life and mysterious coincidences show up. Your self-esteem and confidence increase when you set goals and reach them. The feel good neuro-peptides and hormones in your brain like serotonin and endorphins are released, spurring you onward and upward. The feelings of happiness and joy become a natural part of your attitude, which will attract more good things to come your way. Everything exponentially evolves, day by day, when you make a habit of investing in yourself. By setting the intention to invest in yourself you will automatically be your best and give your best. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Isn’t it time you invest in yourself?
